Wakefield Senior Center

Wakefield Senior Center is a non-profit organization that provides entertainment, meals, social and educational activities, meals on wheels, and health care clinics.

Gardner Public Library

Built in 2004, it is a 7,000-square foot facility and features a meeting room that seats up to 50 people, computer work stations (with wireless connections), and separate children and adult reading areas. The Gardner Public Library contains over 30,000 books, 1300 audio books, and 1400 videos. Library activities include children’s holiday reading programs, a summer reading program, story time for preschool students, as well as computer classes and an adult book club.

The Wakefield Republican, the local newspaper has 1,125 subscribers. The weekly paper is distributed on Thursdays.  E-editions are also available to subscribers for only $20/year.  Daily papers are also delivered locally including the Norfolk Daily News, Omaha World –Herald, and Sioux City Journal.
