The city contracts with Waste Management, for all residential pick-ups.
- Garbage containers and recycling totes are provided by the hauler.
- If your garbage or recycling totes become damaged, they can be replaced by the City crew. Please contact the City Office during regular business hours or wakeclerk [at] gmail.com (email us )with your issue. Damaged totes will be replaced when there is a sufficient amount available.
Costs:
- Residential Garbage Rate (95 gallon) $17.25 per month
- Senior Garbage Rate (35 gallon) $14.10 per month
- Recycling Tote $2.10 per month
- Extra Garbage container $3.15 per month.
Each residence is limited to TWO garbage containers.
Commercial Pick-Up:
The City does NOT provide commercial garbage pickup. Business owners are required to contract their own garbage services.
Annual Cleanup Days:
The City offers two opportunities for Wakefield residents to dispose of no-longer needed household items, appliances, etc. at no cost. Watch the City's Facebook page and website for more information.
- Spring Cleanup Day is usually in April
- Fall Cleanup Day is usually in October
